Game Recap

The Mustangs traveled to Vancouver to take on Hudson’s Bay Eagles. The Mustangs controlled possession the majority of the first half, but were unable to find the back of net going into halftime 0-0.

The Mustangs made some adjustments and in the 42′ scored when junior midfielder, Annika Candee, kicked a shot that the Eagles goalkeeper couldn’t handle. The Mustangs found the net once again in the 51′ on their 3rd corner kick of the night. Senior midfielder, Ellie Holmes, had the assist when junior midfielder, MaKenna Presley, going for a header instead used her back to get the ball in the net to give the Mustangs a 2-0 lead. With 13 minutes to play Candee took advantage of an errant kick by the Hudson’s Bay goalkeeper and shot it passed her for the 3rd goal of the night. Late in the game with just 3 minutes to play Holmes scored the 4th and final goal of the game. For a final score of 4-0.

The Mustangs recorded their 3rd straight shutout due in large part to the midfield and defense keeping possession away from their opponents. Senior goalkeeper, Kinsleigh Edmunds had 4 saves.

The Mustangs host Woodburn on Wednesday at 7pm.
