Asking student-athletes to be leaders without preparing them for the responsibility is unfair. Often much is expected of our leaders, but seldom do we intentionally teach them the necessary skills in order for them to succeed. The Oregon Girls Sports Leadership Summit is excited to announce its third annual summit at Oregon Episcopal School. This summit was designed to give female student-athletes with an interest in leadership the same instruction, encouragement, and practice that we give athletes before competition. This event is recommended for all female student athletes in grades 8-12. This exciting summit will be jam-packed! Over the course of the day we will celebrate the different leadership styles, define our values as individuals and enjoy a keynote motivational speaker, TBA (last year we had Brooke Olzendam from the Portland Trailblazers). Students athletes will have the opportunity to “Explore” what it takes to be a leader, “Connect” with their peers, “Commit” to leadership, and “Create” their own leadership style.
