The Multnomah Athletic Foundation proudly funds two scholarship programs for high school students in the Portland metropolitan area. A listing of the programs’ 29 area high schools can be found at www.MultnomahAthleticFoundation.com/scholarships.
Sophomores – MAC SCHOLAR ATHLETE PROGRAM (nominated by MHS Staff)
Open to high school sophomores Criteria Those who are of good character and citizenship can be designated by the school’s selection committee if they meet the following:
I. Must not be a current MAC member;
2. Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA;
3. Participation in competitive high school athletics;
4. Exhibits strong character and leadership involvement in their school and community; and
5. The high school committee may choose additional selection criteria. Opportunity • Each program high school can choose one
Past winners include – Bryant Smith, wrestling and Jaden South Soccer, Wrestling, and Softball.
Seniors – LOPRINZI SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (apply online)
Open to high school seniors Criteria Those who are of good character and citizenship may apply if they meet the following:
I. Demonstrated financial need to attend college or university using: a. FAFSA to collect financial information b. The college’s COA (Cost of Attendance) c. The student’s EFC (Expected Family Contribution)
II. Participation in competitive athletics;
III. Exhibits strong character and leadership involvement in their school and community;
IV. Minimum cumulative (unweighted) 3.0 GPA; and V. Enrollment full time at an accredited secondary education provider in the upcoming fall term.
